Stanley A. Wielgus Judging Drexel University’s Business Concept Competition

Partner Stanley A. Wielgus is returning to his alma mater to serve as a judge in Drexel University’s 2011 Business Concept Competition. Administered by the Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship through the Lebow College of Business, the Competition invites students from across the University to develop 3-page business concept papers that outline their business idea, market potential, and plans to transform their concepts into reality.
As a judge, Stan will evaluate the papers and offer feedback that students can use to develop a feasibility study and full business plan for the Competition’s second phase in March. Cash prizes will be awarded for first place, second place, and third place.
Three Stephano Slack Employees Earn CPA Credentials

Stephano Slack, LLC, an Accounting and Tax Advisory firm with offices in Wayne and West Chester, Pennsylvania is pleased to announce that Sam McDonald, Megan Calamaro and Juhee Kim have all recently earned their credentials as Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to passing the CPA examination, to become a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania one must have graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and completed at least 24 semester credit hours in accounting subjects. Two years of professional accounting experience are also required, including 800 hours of attest activity.
Stephano Slack Adds Three Staff Members

Stephano Slack, LLC continues to diversify its expertise with the addition of three staff members. The Certified Public Accounting firm recently welcomed Alex N. Steinberg, CPA as Tax Manager, David C. Bailey as Senior Accountant, and Dennis O’Hara as Staff Accountant. Both Alex and Dennis will work from the firm’s recently expanded Wayne office, while David will work at the firm’s office in West Chester.

Nearly a decade after it opened, Stephano Slack is expanding its office in Wayne, Pennsylvania to support continued client and staff growth. The expansion signals another successful year for Stephano Slack, which began with the addition of Stanley A. Wielgus as partner and included several new senior-level staffers.
Stephano Slack Supports AT&T National Golf Tournament

Held at Aronimink Golf Club from July 1 through 4, the AT&T National Tournament was an incredible opportunity to watch 120 PGA professionals give it their best on one of our area's most beautiful courses. Many of our friends and associates were able to not only witness the action but also take part in it. Michael Stephano, Managing Partner, played in the ProAm round with Robert Allenby and two colleagues.
Although the Tournament's prize went to Justin Rose, proceeds from the event support many of our region's leading nonprofits. Nearly 20 will benefit in total, including Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, Chester County Special Olympics, and YMCA of Brandywine Valley among others.
Suzanne Jackson Named Business Woman of the Year by Women's Referral Network of Chester County

Suzanne Jackson, Director of Business Development at Stephano Slack, was recently named Business Woman of the Year by Women's Referral Network of Chester County. Suzanne received the award at a luncheon on May 11, 2010. Lynn Doyle, host of "It's your Call" served as the keynote presenter, and spoke of the need and opportunities for women to regularly reinvent themselves in the workplace to maintain success.

Founding Partner Mike Stephano is contributing to a panel discussion "Six Mistakes That Can Destroy your Business Legacy and How To Avoid Them." The event is scheduled for April 29, 2010, and will cover pitfalls that can potentially affect the financial security of your family, your business, and your retirement. The program will be extremely effective in helping entrepreneurs and business owners identify, anticipate, and avoid these pitfalls. Joining him in the discussion will be panelists from Fox Rothschild, Brumbaugh Wealth Management Group, and the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC). The discussion is being facilitated by RLS Associates; Merger, Acquisition and Exit Planning Strategists.

The Chester County Food Bank Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides food for those in need in Chester County while focusing on hunger's role in poverty, health, and education.
